Most Armed States in America
The Daily Beast has released a list of the most armed states in honor of the recent Supreme Court decision. Think of it this way; I want to live in each state in the order that they appear on this list. I guess I’m moving to Kentucky. It’s kind of strange how they ranked it, however. They decided to do the number of background checks per 100,000 people. It’s kind of an interesting way of looking at it, but there’s definitely holes in ranking it that way (background checks aren’t required for long guns for some people in some states, that sort of thing). Regardless, this is a pretty accurate ranking I think. Except Texas is surprisingly low. And Maryland is 45th? It doesn’t surprise me, but I’m still disappointed. Another flaw, this is based on only legal gun owners (i.e. people who went through a background check to purchase their gun). I’d like to see some stats on how many illegal guns there are in Washington DC (155 background checks per 100,000 people). Anyways, I don’t have much to say on this one, it’s just sort of interesting. So check out the link and go buy yourself a Hi-Point 995TS Carbine. Only $274.
