Adam Carolla Part 1: Chickenshit Tickets

June 6, 2010

I’m surprised that this is the first time I’ve ever posted an Adam Carolla Podcast/Show/Loveline clip, but regardless, here’s his rant on the way cops are focusing on the wrong people to get in trouble. He makes a better argument in other longer clips, look them up if you are so inclined.

I completely agree with him. These are the people that are supposed to be working for us, but honestly when’s the last time you looked in the mirror, saw a cop just driving, and didn’t think “Oh shit!” That’s not the cops working for us, it’s the cops working against the average person and ignoring the general consensus of the citizens. I don’t know if this is a regional thing or if this happens all over, but people up in Maryland flash their lights to warn incoming traffic that there’s radar up ahead so that the citizens who have done nothing wrong (maybe 8 miles per hour over the speed limit but, you know, whatever) don’t get their day ruined. How can anyone argue that it’s not therefore the general consensus of the people that radar has gotten out of control? And another thing, if there’s a place somewhere where everyone “illegally” goes 5 -10 miles over the speed limit then obviously the speed limit is low and it needs to be raised. It’s as simple as that. If someone is going 20 mph over then good, pull him over, but I had a friend pulled over the other day for going 5 mph over the speed limit in her neighborhood and that’s ridiculous. Adam’s term “raping the taxpayer” is pretty much dead on. These guys should be working for us, not against us.
